Even though testing is not required of homeschoolers in Missouri, strong scores make a convincing argument that homeschooling is successful without government intervention. We know that quality research is a powerful tool in protecting homeschool freedom. Missouri families now have the opportunity to showcase their academic success by contributing to a new, multi-state research study!

MATCH is partnering with NHERI (National Home Education Research Institute), and BJU Press Homeschool to conduct a research study that will provide new and helpful information to homeschool families, homeschool support organizations, policymakers, and the general public. It is a multi-state research study and we are excited to be working with other homeschool state organizations like MATCH.

NHERI is a trusted and long-withstanding leading research group that has served state organizations – like MATCH – across the nation, homeschool families, scholars, the media, courts, policymakers, and the general public for over 32 years. Your responses will be kept confidential. Names will not be used in reports and publications for a Missouri study and a multi-state study.

We are asking you to willingly participate in this study. You are not required to do so.

BJU Press Homeschool will provide collected data to NHERI for analysis and summary. No student’s or family’s personally identifying information will be given to anyone. Research reports may then be presented or go to outlets such as MATCH's website, legislators and policymakers, the homeschool community in general, or scholarly journals.

BJU Press will create reports measuring student progress over the years. Any such “longitudinal reporting” would contain student ID numbers but would have no personally identifying information for the students themselves. BJU Press, whether you test with them individually or through this Portal, always keeps files of each individual student’s ID and test scores.

By filling out this form and ordering through the MATCH Parent Portal, you are agreeing to allow MATCH and BJU Press to work with NHERI and BJU Press to create group reports that will be used for blind studies.

Thank you for being willing to help us with the critical reaserch to support homeschool freedom for our children and grandchildren! Remember the more that participate, the more valuable the results will be!
